Project Overview
The transformation of London Zoo's historic 1927 Reptile House into "Zoo Town" - an immersive, interactive play space for children. Clarks Construction worked alongside the Zoological Society of London to sensitively restore and re-imagine the Grade II listed building for its next chapter.
Formerly known as the Reptile House and made famous by Harry Potter, our team delivered extensive structural, MEP, and fit-out works to revitalise the space, creating a dynamic new environment for education and inspiration.
The project required careful conservation of the building's historic fabric whilst creating a modern, engaging space. Every element - from the immersive jungle murals and themed storefronts to the interactive science lab and field camp areas - was designed to spark curiosity and wonder in young visitors.
The result is a space where children can dive into role-play adventures, getting hands-on and discovering the wonders of wildlife through interactive play. From the Vet Hospital to the Plant Nursery, the Peckish Parrot to the Science Lab, each zone invites exploration and learning through imaginative play.
It's been a privilege to contribute to the legacy of London Zoo and support their mission to connect people with nature through learning.
