Bedford School

Bedford School undertook a comprehensive phased refurbishment project in 2023/2024, aiming to enhance its infrastructure to better serve its students and staff. The project involved significant structural alterations and refurbishment across multiple buildings, representing a major investment in the future of one of the UK's leading independent schools.

The refurbishment works were spread across four main sites, each with its own distinct character and requirements:

Godber House at 67 De Parys Avenue - housemasters and 48 bedroom boarders accommodation, requiring sensitive refurbishment to maintain a homely environment whilst upgrading all services and finishes to a modern standard.

Palmers & Tisdalls at 1 De Parys Avenue - classrooms and educational space, modernised to support contemporary teaching methods with upgraded technology infrastructure and flexible learning environments.

Eagle House at 4 De Parys Avenue - sports changing rooms and communal space, refurbished to provide modern, high-quality facilities that support the school's strong sporting tradition.

St Cuthberts at 37 De Parys Avenue - classrooms and educational space, delivered with the same attention to detail and quality of finish across all four sites.

Each site encompassed structural alterations and a comprehensive internal refurbishment including full Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing, along with partial external refurbishments. The project demonstrates Clarks Construction's capability in delivering complex, phased education refurbishments across a live campus environment, working to tight academic year deadlines with full safeguarding compliance throughout.
