Health and Safety and Project Success
At Clarks Construction we feel that health and safety is paramount to a successful project. Whilst the it has the obvious benefits of keeping our direct and sub contracted employees safe and well it also makes for a more efficient working environment. By implementing the correct health and safety procedures, our employees are happier in their roles. If our employees have the right knowledge and tools, it can boost morale and productivity on site. In the long term it helps build a good reputation and is why we at Clarks Construction have high staff retention, with most of our employees having been with us for 10 years plus and some 20+.
In order to achieve good health and safety practice training is vital and being an avid member of CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) is crucial in supporting this. Through CITB we engage our staff on such courses as ‘site Management safety training scheme (SMSTS), ‘first aid’, ‘fire Marshall’, IPAF, Asbestos Awareness and many more. This assists in delivering professional and time efficient projects as well as great building practice.
Its not just our staff that take part in training, we believe that we should set the example from the top and so our directors often go on courses such as ‘directing safely’, ‘SMSTS’, ‘Asbestos Awareness’ etc. This helps support and promotes to our staff and clients that good health and safety practice is vital in delivering a successful (and safe) project.
